We're delighted to once again be screening films as part of the Purbeck Film Festival.
Elena is a contemporary dancer, instructor and choreographer. While teaching a class for deaf youths she meets Dovydas a sign language interpreter. The pair are immediately drawn towards each other, but as their friendship rapidly progresses towards romance his asexuality begins to become a stumbling block. Can their relationship overcome this hurdle? Slow lives up to its name but it’s the deliberately pedestrian pacing which makes it so highly absorbing. The movement of Slow allows us to experience the highs, the lows, the ups and downs, in a wonderfully intimate way. Slow is a persuasive meditation on modern romance. There are some beautiful scenes where communication is subtly conveyed without words.
