REX Gala - Enjoy a free Purbeck Cider. Ahmet is frustrated by life as a tech-literate teenager in a rural village. When his neighbour, Aya, returns from Germany, hes soon enamoured by her TikTok dances and attendance of covert forest raves at night. Her family has arranged her marriage to an older man, but Ahmet and Aya scheme a very twenty-first century rebellion. DJ Ahmet is a disarming comedy about the role of modern technology in rural society, a portrait of a grieving family, a touching teen romance, and a pulse-pounding tribute to dance festivals. Georgi M. Unkovskis feature debut does a lot and does it well. Sponsor: Purbeck Cider.
