We're delighted to once again be screening films as part of the Purbeck Film Festival.
A single mother concerned about the increasingly strange behaviour of her young son fears his teacher is responsible. She confronts the school, determined to find the truth. As the story is told through her eyes and that of her child and his teacher, the truth slowly emerges in this intricate and complex social drama. This is a deeply compassionate film constructed like a kaleidoscope that encourages us to think about why we are here, and what makes us truly happy. It is ultimately about understanding self and accepting all that you are amongst the pressures of life as it explores the misinterpretation of words and actions that can lead to someone becoming ‘othered’, strange, a monster. “This is a film created with a great moral intelligence and humanity.” Peter Bradshaw, Guardian
